Nigel, I agree! They’re very other wordly–like enormous, gentle insects that never move yet are very much alive. They’re a complete contradiction with the landscape, but I find them peaceful and oddly comforting. Thanks for your kind words. And I love cloudscapes!

One thing I really like in the Midwest are those kinds of little fences. They can lend a lot structurally to a photo!
