This tree, and another next to it with bright red apples, are at the Emiquon preserve on a slim patch of ground near the water. They must have been planted before the Nature Conservancy bought the property and converted it to wetlands in the 1990s. I love the fact that the trees were left as a reminder of the past. 🙂
