Great shot and title, Sharon. The road leads the eye straight to the moment supreme: the landing UFO disguised as an earthly cloud. The bright light feels as the gap through which they entered Earth. Nice story.
Nigel, you always give the most helpful feedback – thank you!
This one sat on my desktop for a few weeks before making it to the blog…….so I appreciate your kind words.
As far as the centered road……..it’s very much in the country at the bottom of a hill. I had to jump out of the way exactly twice for cars cruising along on their Sunday drives π :).

Hello Harrie, I love this interpretation. Thank you :).
Here’s to close encounters of the Midwestern kind.

It feels like a road to nowhere…forlorn, yet it beckons me, because sometimes I like the journey more than the destination.
Nice! π
What a great comment mishunderstood, thank you π π
I agree – it’s absolutely about the journey and not the destination. I have to remind myself of this sometimes……..
Brilliant. Thank you. π
I just love this image to bits Sharon !
It is great you selected Black and white as it’s all about the light !
it could have been so tempting to crop closer to the horizon, but you got the sun both behind the clouds and reflected in the road !
I just love the wet road, the clouds and the fact you made sure the road is centered !!
All add up-to a simple yet wonderful image !
