The clouds were perfect and the morning fog was just lifting. I bet that’s normal weather in Ireland, but it’s not often we get that combination here on the prairie.
Thanks, Ilex. Your comment is spot on. I was recently out with friends new to the area from the Virginia/D.C. area, and when I asked them what they thought about the landscape, besides being so flat, they immediately said the big, open sky.
I do think it takes adjustment with perhaps an initial feeling of disconnectedness. Still – I’ve never heard anyone complain about the sky; just the flat landscape. A dichotomy, I guess. π
Oh, my! So expansive. I just want to reach out and touch that sky. Lovely.
Expansive it is!
Thanks, Eliza. π

As a flatlander, I still do enjoy these views, however to someone that lives with terrain, this must feel expansive to them.

Love large prairie land and farm country. Simple and beautiful if you know how to look. Great shot.
