  1. Murmurations are wonderful to watch Sharon ๐Ÿ™‚ There used to be a huge murmuration of starlings close to where I used to live in Cornwall, somewhere in the region of a couple of million starlings – I used to cycle over to the marshes and watch them every dusk ๐Ÿ™‚ It brings back some happy memories!

    • Thanks, Andy. That must have been incredible! I’ve wanted to capture one for a long time. I remember them from childhood but it seems that as I grew up they either became less frequent, or I stopped paying attention. Probably the latter. I caught this one, and several others, at a local park where I often go to hike and shoot. The sound as they lifted from the trees and swept overhead was like rushing water. They were no longer birds, but one living thing, floating and dancing with itself. I’ll never forget it. ๐Ÿ™‚

      So pleased you enjoyed.

      • I thought it was brilliant Sharon, and now you’ve reminded me about the noise of them, as you say, it’s an amazing sound, almost like a waterfall of fluttering wings ๐Ÿ™‚
You describe them perfectly, like one living thing, floating and dancing!!! Perfect!
I can’t thank you enough for bringing back such excellent memories!!!
