  1. Lonely tree. My, your land is so flat! I’ve lived in the hills and forests all my life, I cannot imagine what it must be like to live on the plains. Is it true that the wind blows all the time?

    • Yes Eliza, it sure is. To quote my mom, the land is “flat as a flitter.”

      I like being able to see for miles on end and find it very freeing. There’s a feeling of connectedness about it. That said, I could spend days, weeks, even months prowling around forests and hills getting up close in the face of Mother Nature herself.

      Yes, it’s windy in the winter (especially *this* winter!), and blazing hot in the summer. Ah, but spring and autumn, though fleeting, are full of wonder.
