There’s a small marsh/pond near the building where I work, Nigel, and it’s surrounded with yellow ones. I’ll bet they’re similar to your Irish irises!
Those in my image are probably hybrids of the yellows and were quite stunning in my friend’s garden. The color is actually cobalt blue, but these were backlit which gave them a warm violet hue.
